What Is Lifestyle?

Lifestyle refers to a set of choices and attitudes that influence how we live our lives, such as diet, exercise routine, work, entertainment and social activities. A person’s lifestyle also reflects their values, attitudes and worldview; for instance a healthy lifestyle typically features balanced eating habits with regular physical activity as well as no bad habits like smoking.
Oxford English Dictionary gives us an apt definition of lifestyle: it refers to “the way in which an individual chooses to lead and conduct their life”. Lifestyle can often be applied in relation to media and celebrities. For example, actors may try to maintain certain images by dressing certain ways or attending parties and events frequently.
Lifestyle of celebrities is often associated with wealth, status and power. Some celebrity lives are lavish while others lead more modest yet normal lives. People may enjoy their current lives but others would like to alter it for greater comfort, fulfillment or less stress.
Example: Someone might decide they want to lead a healthier lifestyle and exercise more regularly, starting by cutting back on junk food intake and improving sleeping patterns. Their aim should be to develop positive behaviors as part of their regular routine in order to reap long-term health benefits from exercising regularly.
Lifestyle choices can often depend on our environment and culture. That is why it is vital to maintain meaningful connections with family and friends, even amid busy lives, so as to feel supported and loved – ultimately leading to improved health outcomes.
Lifestyle can also include how a person spends their free time. Be it arts and crafts, sports or reading; any activity which provides enjoyment can be seen as part of their lifestyle if these hobbies provide well-being or fulfillment for someone. A person’s lifestyle can also encompass their approach to money management or investing, career choices or choices and spiritual beliefs as part of a holistic view of living a fulfilling life.
